Preparation time

Ingredients

For 1 Batch(es)

Ingredients

  • 1 can chickpeas
  • tahini (sesame paste) to taste (I used 2 tsp)
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 0.5 lemon (only the juice)
  • 60 ml (or less) water
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • paprika to serve

Classic chickpeas hummus Directions

  1. Place drained chickpeas, tahini, garlic, lemon juice and a few tablespoons of water in a food processor fitted with a blade attachment and process until smooth. Add more water if you want it more liquid and adjust salt and pepper to taste.

  2. Transfer to a bowl, pour some olive oil and a bit of paprika over it and serve. Hummus gets tastier after a few hours when the flavors are able to mix. If you want a very smooth hummus, pass the mixture through a sieve and discard the skins from chickpeas.
