In my recipes I often use vanilla extract that makes cakes and desserts delicious and aromatic. The process for making the extract is very simple and the cost is lower compared to a ready to use product from the store. The extract can be preserved for a very long time and your desserts will become flavourful and fragrant.
For 1 Batch(es)
- 2 (or more) vanilla beans
- 500 ml vodka
- 1 glass bottle
Vanilla extract Directions
- Split each vanilla bean in half lengthwise and insert them into a bottle. Pour the vodka to completely cover the beans. Close the bottle and keep it in a cool, dark place (not the refrigerator). Shake the bottle periodically. Let stand for at least 3 weeks, however, the extract will reach full flavor after a few months and will be perfect for use. It can be stored for years .
I love the idea of making my own vanilla, and now that I've done it, I will never buy vanilla again....
